MCAS Schedule for June 2011

May 22, 2011 By Y3K

The high school science portion of the MCAS test will take place on both June 1st and 2nd. The test will be 2 sessions each lasting approximately 60 minutes. The student can choose between biology, chemistry, introductory physics and technology/engineering. The science MCAS test subject is usually issued based on the type of science that the student is currently taking in school.

One important thing to note is once a high school student passes any ONE of the MCAS science tests, they will never have to take another one again. The state of Massachusetts requires that only one of the science tests be passed in order to graduate high school. This also means a student does not have to make up a failed test the next year. For example if a student fails the physics MCAS test, they don’t have to make up that subject the next year. They could re-take the physics MCAS test or take the chemistry MCAS test the next year. If they were to fail again, the student could re-take the chemistry MCAS test or take the Biology MCAS test instead. If they were to fail again, the student would have the option of taking any of the four science MCAS tests in their senior year of high school.
