The first part of the PARCC tests will assess writing skills and proficiency on multi-staged math problems. Tomorrow we will address what is in store for the second part of the PARCC tests.
PARCC Tests – Two Parts
The new PARCC tests will be taken in two parts. The first part will be issued to students 75% of the way through the school year. The second part will be at the end of the school year. Come back tomorrow for a closer look at the first part of the PARCC tests.
PARCC Test Score Results
After students complete the new PARCC test trial run in the spring of 2014, the test results will not be released to students or parents. In fact the results will not count toward state or federal school district grades. Apparently the test results will only be used by state officials when they vote in the fall of 2015 on whether to adopt the new PARCC tests permanently.
Tune in tomorrow to find out how the tests will be given out.
MCAS Remains For 10th Graders
Although in 2014 the new PARCC tests will be issued to certain MA schools for a trial run, all 10th graders will continue to take the MCAS tests. They will still be required to pass the MCAS tests in order to get their diploma.
Tomorrow we will look at how the new PARCC testing scores will be used.
PARCC Test Spring 2014
The country is getting ready for new nationwide tests to measure student performance. Coming soon will be a trial run of the new national standardized test called Partnership for Assessment of Readiness for College and Careers (PARCC). About 2/3 of MA’s schools have been chosen to participate in the PARCC trial next spring. This includes the Y3K Tutor In Your Home communities of Natick and Weston. The full list of schools participating in the trial run have not been released yet as some are still being chosen and notified.
Check back here tomorrow for how the MCAS 10th grade graduation requirement will be handled.
PARCC Trial Run in MA
On November 19, 2013 the Massachusetts Board of Education approved the new nationwide Partnership for Assessment of Readiness for College and Careers (PARCC) tests for a two-year trial run in certain locations. Later in 2015, they will then decide if it will be used on an ongoing basis. Come back tomorrow for some towns taking this test later this spring.
