Cell Phone Radiation and Children

Children are far more susceptible to the effects of cell phone radiation than adults. Kids skulls are much thinner so radiation can penetrate the brain easier when a cell phone is held up to the ear. This radiation is then absorbed by a larger area of the brain than an adult’s brain would.

Walking to School Dangers

Children don’t develop a sense of danger until they are 7 or 8. This is after many of them begin walking to school and crossing streets. Make sure your kids know when it is safe to cross the street when walking to school. Dangerous accidents do happen!

Brookline, MA November 2011 MCAS Retest Schedule

The MCAS English Language Arts (ELA) and Math retests are scheduled for mid November in Brookline, MA. These tests will only be issued to 11th or 12th grade students that have received a failing or needs improvement score on their previous MCAS tests starting in 10th grade. If a student has previously passed one of the two subjects, they will only have to take one retest in the failing subject.
