Our donation and your bids help the Underwood School PTO raise money to pay for teacher’s classroom supplies, project materials, important curriculum enrichment programs through the Creative Arts and Sciences program, technology purchases, and so much more. All of these items are integral to the children’s education at Underwood Elementary School. Without our donation and your bids, programs like these would not be available to the Newton students. It is our support that continues to make the Underwood Elementary School a special place.

We had first engaged Y3K Tutor In Your Home five years ago, when our son rose at 1:00 AM one night and said he’d felt as if he were “drowning in school”. This is despite the excellent LD assistance provided in his middle school. During their first meeting, I could hear my shy son actually giggling with the tutor and his confidence, outlook, and grades all began to shift seismically.
Today, that frightened little boy is a confident and fully engaged student who graduated high school this past spring and on the honor roll. As he and his tutor have built a wonderful relationship of trust and friendship, we intend this relationship to continue through college. In my estimation, our son’s Y3K Tutor In Your Home tutor is an outstanding educator who meets students where they are, so as to get them to where they dream of being.

There will be a silent auction for the Newton-Wellesley Hospital Annual Gala. This year’s event will help shed light on opioid and substance use disorders in our community. With the Y3K Tutor In Your Home auction donation, they will be able to support the launch of the Newton-Wellesley Hospital’s multidisciplinary service dedicated to preventing and treating substance use disorders.

Jackson Walnut Park School Tutoring
Y3K Tutor In Your Home donated tutoring and test preparation to the upcoming Jackson Walnut Park Schools’ 50th Anniversary Possible Dreams Auction at Fenway Park. When in attendance this coming Friday at the Anniversary Gala and Auction, be on the lookout for our auction donation. The money raised will help the Jackson Walnut Park Schools’ Fund-A-Need which is their two year project to develop and expand outdoor play and learning spaces on the north side of their Newton, MA campus. The annual event is one of the schools’ most important fundraising efforts each year. The funds it raises enable Jackson Walnut Park to offer their values-based curriculum with small class sizes.

The owner has been tutoring my kids – now in 10th grade – since they were in elementary school. The specific needs have varied over the years and Jerry has always been able to adapt his teaching and style to provide what was needed. He is able to provide support across all the academic subjects – but just as critically – he has helped with organizational skills and planning. And he has remained even and cool-headed in the face of difficult teenagers, resistant to getting help.
