Older children tend to be kidnapping targets because they tend to be less supervised. Encourage your children to always travel with a group.
This Week’s ARL Pick-Ups
Animal Rescue League towel/blanket/toy pickups this week will be in Weston, Dover, Needham, Wellesley, Brookline, Newton, Wayland, Sudbury and Natick.
Abduction Prevention
Kids targeted in abduction attempts are often preteens and teens in middle grades. Kids must be aware and run and scream if an attempt is made.
Inside Cars or Back To Nature?
Kids spend more time in cars going from one indoor activity to another than being outside in nature. Children should still enjoy the woods, playing outside w/friends, or climbing a tree.
Indoors
Being indoors all the time can be bad for kids. It can lead to chronic conditions such as obesity, asthma, ADHD, and vitamin D deficiency.
Valuables and School Don’t Mix
Do not send electronics and valuables to school. They tend to disappear quickly never to be seen again.
Dreams and Goals
A dream is just a dream. A goal is a dream with a plan and a deadline.
Homework Space
Students need a dedicated homework space. It should be clutter-free and quiet. It should be away from the television and other kids playing (such as brothers and sisters).
Wellesley, Wayland, Newton & Sudbury Tutor Pick-Ups
Today’s Animal Rescue League Collection Drive pick-ups are in Wellesley, Wayland, Newton and Sudbury. The dogs, cats and other animals thank you.
Homework Spaces
Kids homework spaces should have all supplies needed to work independently. This includes markers, pencils, pens, erasers, paper and computer.
